History

Intelliarts is a custom software development and consulting company that was established in the June of 1999 in L'viv, Ukraine by a group of highly skilled professionals with 5-8 years of experience in the information technologies and, particularly, software development.

At the time of company's establishment custom software development used to be our primary activity. Workflow automation systems and document management software for banks and insurance companies from Germany and Austria. We've been expanding our work area year by year and today our portfolio contains successful projects in automotive industry, facility management, insurance and banking, financial analysis and personal information management etc.

Since 2000 most of our projects were developed in cooperation with teams distributed all over the Europe. Working in cooperation with teams from Austria, Bulgaria and Germany we've achieved sophisticated understanding of software development business in Western Europe and accumulated best techniques from our colleagues. That experience allows us to comprehend western customer's interests better than ever.

In the early 2000 first attempts to standardize our own development process were made. We still permanently investigate and practice different methodologies, processes and their elements. Particularly, we have an experience of successfully completed projects driven according to the Rational Unified Process and Extreme Programming methodology. However, we understand that there is no silver bullet and always prefer individual process selection for every project.

Since 2001 IT consulting services provided. Our employees share experience of rapid installations and effective use of new technologies with other teams abroad. From 2003 our developers work within foreign team as senior system architects.

In 2001 Kiev Java Users Group was founded (involved in Ukrainian Java Users Group in 2003). The main purpose of this organization is to allow highly qualified Java professionals share their experience. Our employees take an active part in JUG sessions, provide comprehensive reports on bleeding edge technologies and practices. And of course cooperation with JUG members raises our own experience level as well.

Started in late 2002 our on-site development practice still very popular now. Our developers being invited by customers during the most crucial stages of development: business modelling, requirements statement, acceptance and integration. Direct communication with customer during business modelling and requirements statement stage allows our developers to realize customer's needs better and define details more precisely. All this make development time decrease dramatically.

All these little pieces for perfect environment for rapid, robust and cost-effective software development. At the moment our portfolio contains more than a hundred small and middle-sized successful projects varying from embedded applications to enterprise-level systems for customers from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Russia, USA and Ukraine.
