Visiting Lviv

General Information

Ukraine is a European country bordering with Belarus, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia. Located in the Eastern Europe, Ukraine lives by EET, the Eastern European Time which is GMT+02:00 hours.

Lviv is the largest city in Western Ukraine with population about 800,000. Founded in 1256, it's one of the oldest cities in Ukraine and a major cultural center.

Ukrainian Visa

Citizens of European Union, United States, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Vatican City, Monaco, Iceland, Norway, San Marino, Mongolia, Serbia, and Montenegro don't need a visa to visit Ukraine for the period less than 90 days.

Getting to Lviv

Lviv international airport has direct connections with Frankfurt-am-Main, Kyiv, Vienna, Warsaw and some other cities. Ukraine International Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Carpatair, LOT have direct flights to Lviv.

Payments

National Ukrainian currency is Hryvnia (UAH). Although MasterCard or VISA is accepted in the most of hotels, supermarkets and restaurants, payments in cash are more prevalent. There are many ATMs in the city where you can withdraw cash and bank offices where you can exchange Euro or US Dollars to Hryvnia.
